◾️ Robert Taira Wilson Band ◾️

The Robert Taira Wilson Band is an international group of musicians based in Tokyo, Japan. Formed in 2024, their music is inspired by acts like Paul Simon, Jeff Buckley, Vampire Weekend and King Crimson. All of which have helped cultivate a sound which incorporates folk, alternative-pop, and hard rock. Calm and intimate sections will soothe your soul, only for you to be thrown into a maelstrom of chaos and power moments later. Lyrics speak of the unresolved nature of the human experience and the contradictory state of the human mind. Through their lens, you encounter a complex take on love, loss, and the beauty of life.

◾️ Madamn Jan Band ◾️

The leader of the band, Madam⚡Jan (*The actual pronunciation is “Yang” not “Jan” in English) was born in Osaka and is currently based in Tokyo. Mixing the Japanese-Showa-era songs, Jan's songs absorb a variety of genres, including classic rock, jazz, Latin, and bossa nova, and feature nostalgic melody lines with her unique worldviews.

 

The band members are Nobuhiro “Naga” Murata, a talented jazz drummer from Mie prefecture in Japan, and Julián “風利” Ferreira, a classic Japanese music researcher and double bassist from Colombia.

 

In the early summer of 2021, they released their album “Super Cinderella Super Express” under Madam⚡Jan’s former name Jan Frenzy, now available through online music distribution services such as Apple Music, LINE Music, and Spotify.
