Artist Information
◾️ Luis Sartor ◾️
Born in 1952 in Santa Fe, Argentina.
In 1978, he came to Japan as a member of quena maestro Antonio Bantuja's Japan tour.
In 1985, he moved his base of activities to Japan, and since then has been active in spreading the appeal of Latin music in Japan. He is a versatile singer, songwriter, and performer, freely manipulating mandolin, charango, guitar, keyboards, and percussion. He has also contributed songs to the soundtrack of the movie "Inamura Jane," directed by Keisuke Kuwata, and to Orquesta de la Luz's album "La Aventura," which was nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best Latin Album" in 1995, both of which were major breakthroughs for the band!
Luis Sartor, also known as a big soccer fan, wrote the lyrics for the song "VIVA Japan" to cheer on the Japanese national soccer team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
In addition to his musical activities, Luis Sartor is active as a DJ on Inter FM (76.1 MHz), narrates commercials, and translates Spanish into other languages.
He is the author of the groundbreaking instructional book "Charango Master.
In 2007, he composed, arranged, and produced the music used in "World Soccer Winning Eleven 2008" released by Konami Digital Entertainment Co.
He also composed the music for "Voces Latinas," a documentary about Latin immigrants living in Japan, which was released in 2007.
With his bright and cheerful character and passionate Latin spirit, he is a multi-talented artist who is creating a huge sensation throughout Japan.
