Here at More Than Music we have had events all over Tokyo and several of the venues we work with have asked us to support their live shows and bring along the More Than Music atmosphere to their events. Pick-Up Events are events that are not directly organized by More Than Music but rather shows we think are exciting and want to share with our audience. Of course More Than Music event pass holders get free access to Pick-Up Events! We have several legendary indie venues whose shows we frequently pick up.

Shimokitazawa Three & Basement Bar

One of our most used Pick-Up venues is Three in Shimokitazawa. Three shares a basement with the aptly named Basement Bar; both of these underground bars are a staple of the Tokyo indie scene. Mainly for the interesting, envelope-pushing moves the indie rock scene is making.
Tokyo has a plethora of very talented musicians but like pearls in a closed clam it can be hard to get to them. Knowing about Three and Basement bar will get you a lot closer in your journey to the treasure of the Tokyo underground indie rock scene.

Haremame

If the hippie scene of the seventies materialized into a live house in Daikanyama, Haremame would be its name, and it is! At least it is the abbreviated form of “Haretara Sora Ni Mame Maite'' meaning something like “ Sow your seeds when the sun comes out”, beautiful words indeed. This venue suits any kind of live event, from poetry readings, over hard rock concerts to all night DJ’s spinning for electronic music lovers.

Kagurane

In the middle of Kagurazaka, amidst French style bakeries, stylish shop windows and the cobbled road that runs between them lies hidden in a basement, Kagurane. It is made up of a sleek bar that is separated from the stage area in the next room, boasting one of the most premium sound equipment systems in Tokyo. The owner, a sound engineer himself, made Kagurane with the best possible sound in mind.
The overall feel of the place is modern and sleek. It is a versatile venue but it is primarily used for electronic events such as More Than Music’s own series ‘Electroman’ our bimonthly Electro series!
