Artist Information
◾️ The Bagpipes ◾️
The Bagpipes is a folk rock band formed in 2022 through the music circle Waseda Rock Climbing at Waseda University. The band is centered around three core members: Alex (James Alexander Hoki) on vocals and guitar, Kaito Hidaka on guitar and chorus, and Hajime Yamamoto on bass. They perform as a five-piece lineup, joined by support members on drums and keyboards.
Blending youthful energy with sharp musicianship, The Bagpipes craft a sound that feels both fresh and confidently mature—marking them as a standout act to watch.

◾️ HALLEY ◾️
An R&B band based in Tokyo, consisting of Tehyon (Vo.), Haru Tozan (Gt.), and Kokoro Nishiyama (Key). The group was formed in May 2021 after the members met through “The Naleio,” a Black music circle at Waseda University.
Although their sound mostly resonates with pop, there is still a clear grounding and strong influence of the traditions of jazz, R&B, soul, gospel, and funk.
In March 2024, they released their first album, From Dusk Till Dawn. The band performed at SXSW 2024 in Austin, Texas, drawing attention from international audiences as well. In 2025, the album was selected as one of the 12 nominated works for the APPLE VINEGAR MUSIC AWARD 2025, hosted by Masafumi Gotoh (Gotch) of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION.
The band continued an active release schedule, putting out the digital single “Can We Talk” in April and “24” in June. For “24,” the artist photos, jacket artwork, and music video—shot in Hong Kong, where Tozan spent his childhood—also became a topic of conversation. In September, they released a new digital single, “DON’T MIND.”
On November 30, 2025, they held a one-man live show titled The Late Night Show with HALLEY & Friends at Tokyo Kinema Club. Featuring a special 10-piece lineup with added chorus and horn sections, the performance captivated the audience and concluded to a sold-out crowd. In December, they appeared at 在地 UN.EARTH 萌生 Clockenflap前夜祭 presented by UN.TOMORROW feat. New Action! held in Hong Kong. Additionally, HALLEY served as the backing band for Japanese tour dates by Hong Kong singer-songwriter moon tang.
At the end of 2025, two members departed, and beginning in 2026, the band will continue activities under a new three-member lineup.
