Artist information

◾️ Special Trio ◾️

The trio consists of Kazutoshi Sohta on piano, Yusuke Morita on bass, and Seiya Kudo on drums.

A newly formed super band, they are yet to be named, as it was in July 2023, that this 3-piece performed for the first time and filled the room with joy. All happening at MTM’s own collaboration with the organizers of First Train.

Kazutoshi and Morita's compositions have an original and lyrical worldview, while Kudo's drumming is based on classical percussion with amazing stick control and a modern flair for human-powered high-speed breakbeats and improvisation giving hits of psychedelic and post rock elements among their jazz core.

ピアノ草田一駿、 ベース森田悠介、 ドラム工藤誠也によるトリオ。
2023年7月に都内で開催されたイベントで40分間の演奏をした際フロアは熱狂に包まれた。
バンドの名称は付けられていない。
草田と森田のそれぞれの作曲は独創的で抒情的な世界観を有し、工藤のドラムはクラシックパーカッ ションを基礎とした驚異的なスティックコントロールと現代的なセンスで、 人力の高速ブレイクビーツ とインプロビゼーションを実現している。

草田は自身の草田一駿五重奏体系にて2度フジロック出演、 作品も精力的にリリース。
森田はJazzの世界やプロデュースワークで活躍する傍ら、6弦ベースのソロ演奏でスペインのフラメン コの大会にてセミファイナルを獲得。
工藤はノーステキサス大学を経て東京に拠点を移し、 既に数多くの現場やSNSで注目を集めている。

The Bagpipes are a young, still in University 5-piece band that carries a groove and professionalism beyond their years. The voice of frontman, James Alexander, is powerful and and back with keys, guitar, bass, and drums that will get you moving.

The Bagpipesはメンバー全員が大学在学中であるにも関わらず、その若さを凌駕し、忘れさせてしまう、そんなプロフェッショナリズムとグルーブ感をもつ5人組バンドである。
フロントマン、ジェームズアレグザンダーはるきの声はパワフルかつ繊細、バンドを支えるキーボード、ギター、ベース、ドラムはフロアをダンスフロアへ変えてしまう力を持っている。きっとあなたも、このバンドが出すグルーブに抗うことはできないだろう

You’re compelled to continue swinging your body to the tempo as DJ Luke Hobbs emerges from the smoky backdrop gifting the masses with one final set. If you were to visually capture this organic sound on canvas, you’d stand for a moment upon the piece and claim it as avant-garde. Hobbs has an immaculate way of capturing music at its very core, and the result is almost an animalistic blend of big disco, rock, and accidental tribal.  The urge to dance is transfixing, and you surrender yourself.
