トップレベルのミュージシャンが一緒に演奏するとなると、ジョンソンズ・モーターカーの右に出る者はいないだろう。アイリッシュとジプシーのフォークが見事に融合したこのグッドタイムなパーティーバンドは、立ち上がって踊りたくなるような雰囲気を醸し出している。15年ほど前から活動し、フジロックにも出演している彼らは、感染力が強く、楽しく、ダイナミックだ。ヴァイオリニスト兼ヴォーカリストのマーティンは一晩中演奏できるタフネスぶりで、ブラッコ（g)、クマ
(d) は期待に違わずタイト、ベースのマリーヌは、アイルランド音楽においてベースがギターやドラムといかに音楽的に調和する必要があるかを正確に理解した上で、2人の間（ま）を連動させて、まさにセンセーションと言うほかはなかった。また、彼女は実際に足を骨折しているのに全曲を演奏したこともあったという。

When it comes to musicians at the top of their game playing together, you can go no further than Johnson's Motorcar. A wonderful blend of Irish and Gypsy folk, this good-time party band just make you want to get up and dance. Having been around for some fifteen years and played at Fuji Rock no less, they are infectious, fun and dynamic. Violinist and vocalist Martin could play all night), Blacko (g) and Kuma (d) are as tight as you could ask for and Maryne on bass was simply a sensation, interlocking between the two of them with an understanding of exactly how in Irish music, the bass needs to make musical sense with the guitar and drums. A real trooper as well, she somehow manged to play the entire set with a broken leg!
