Song Introduction: UEBO - Veranda
Veranda, or as it can be translated, an open-air porch or balcony. Whichever way you decode it, even if you don’t fully understand the song’s words, the feel of Uebo’s music renders smoothly all the same.
UEBO’s vocals match the guitar’s melody perfectly; it’s like the purely amazing toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Even If peanut butter isn’t your thing, or if this is the first song that you’ve heard from UEBO, just sit back and let me paint this picture. The weather is perfect, the sun is out, the birds are chirping in the trees, there’s a bit of a slight breeze, and it’s about mid-day on a Sunday. You’re feeling hungry, not for a full meal, just something to hold you over. You check the cupboard, there’s not much but you see that you have the right ingredients to make you a PB&J sandwich.
Not only do you have the right ingredients, but you also toasted the bread before you put everything together. You take that bite into the carefully crafted sandwich, and you taste the hard work, the zest of the jelly, the creaminess of peanut butter, and the crunch of the bread. The result is unmistakably a bomb-ass sandwich and effort well spent.
That’s what we got here with Veranda. A song crafted from quality bare essentials. The crisps vocals, the crunchy clap drops, and the creamy smooth guitar work. As your ears digest UEBO’s beautiful handiwork, the song gives off a light feeling as if nothing is wrong in the world. UEBO’s hard work, like the sandwich, was just what we needed, instant satisfaction.
This video portrays two people, apparently now separated and clearly missing each other. The two reflect on their past relationship and the love they once shared, all while circulating around this veranda. To be honest, this video kind of reminds you of that one ex that you’ve got that things could have worked out, but it ended because neither party wanted to admit their faults. Watching the video, you may wish to call said ex or shed a tear; crying is okay, but don’t hit up that ex!
The video has a great concept, and the exceptional production value is indicative of an artist who is keen on giving their audience a real visual feast. The beautiful production and editing really give you a feel of this song’s yearning. Congrats to UEBO for really knocking it out with this one.
